Dr. Ackermann

Dr. Callie Ackermann is an Orthopaedic Surgeon based at Cape Town’s Netcare Blaauwberg Hospital. He specialises in hip and knee replacement and revision surgery, as well as joint preserving surgery.

Having had both of his hips replaced, he understands the importance of finding the right surgeon and knows what it takes to return to a pain-free, active lifestyle. He ensures that each stage of the treatment process is thoroughly taken care of, with private consultations, allowing for accurate diagnosis, and individually designed treatment plans. He assists patients with a smooth recovery period, and offers continual advice regarding post-surgical care and recovery.

Dr. Ackermann completed his two-year fellowship training at a prestigious university in the USA, where he gained experience in minimally invasive bone and muscle preserving precision surgery. Thereafter he worked in high volume joint replacement practices in the USA and Canada, growing his knowledge invaluably.

Aletta Ackermann

Office Manager

 

Aletta studied Physiotherapy at the University of Stellenbosch. She practiced in South Africa for 2 years before moving abroad where she did her qualifying exams to practice as a Physiotherapist in Canada.

Soon afterwards, Aletta started a family and spent time raising her children. Now back in South Africa, Aletta assisted her husband in starting up his new practice at Blaauwberg Hospital. Realising how much she enjoys working with patients, she decided to stay on as office manager.

René Fourie

Receptionist

Rene has a Diploma in Practice Management and a multitude of life skills training and courses. With 25 years of experience in Office Coordination and Management, she aims to make life easier for others.

She connects with patients and the general public in her confident, down to earth manner. She finds this skill especially advantageous as this in turns creates a comfortable relationship of trust and loyalty.

Liné McMaster

Office Administrator

Liné is currently completing a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and is interested and fascinated by the medical field, from diagnosis to treatment and all the administrative processes needed to get the job done. She has spent her whole career building her administrative skills and can relate to and connect with people from all walks of life. She loves to help people get through their treatment periods as seamlessly as possible and is well-equipped to do so.She is happy to assist with any patient query, no matter how challenging.

Dr Bennie Combrink

Anaesthetist

 

 

Dr Bennie Combrink studied medicine at the university of Stellenbosch and graduated with the class of 2003. He started specialist training in anaesthesia in the UK and worked there for 5 years before completing his studies at the University of Cape Town in 2014.

Dr Bennie Combrink joined our practice in 2014 and enjoys anaesthesia for orthopaedics, ENT and plastic surgery. In his spare time he enjoys racing 2 stoke motorcycles.

Dr Pieter Neethling

GP Assistant Doctor

 

Dr Pieter Neethling is a general practitioner with a special interest in aesthetic, anti-ageing and cosmetic medicine. He graduated with a MBChB degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 2010. During the following two years, he completed his internship at Tembisa Provincial Tertiary Hospital in Johannesburg, followed by a community service year at Stellenbosch Provincial Hospital. At the end of 2013, having completed all compulsory services, he was offered to stay on at Stellenbosch Provincial Hospital which led to employment as a Medical Officer for more than four years. Since then he has been working as a general practitioner. During his employment at the hospital he performed and assisted in hundreds of emergency and elective gynaecological procedures. He also performed numerous minor surgical and minor orthopaedic operations.

Dr Gerhard Hauman

GP Assistant Doctor

 

Dr. Gerhard Hauman is a general practitioner who graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2010 where he completed his MBChB degree. He gained valuable experience during his 2 years of internship at Tembisa Tertiary Hospital in Gauteng. During 2013 he moved back to his home town of Caledon where he completed his community service year.

Still giving back to the community he moved to Stellenbosch Provincial Hospital where he worked for 5 years as a medical officer in the emergency department, outpatient department, wards as well as surgical and anaesthetic work in theatre. During this time he broadened his horizons with visits to Ireland where he worked at Letterkenny University Hospital as an Emergency medicine registrar. Currently he is working full time as a general practitioner at his practice in Table View and assists Dr Callie Ackermann (orthopedic surgeon) in theatre.
